The boy's homemade kitchen is a treasure trove of wooden fruits and vegetables (toast, sugar cubes, pots of jam etc.) that we collected from around the globe for a good twenty years before he was even conceived!
We built the modern plywood kitchen - fashioning a sink from a square industrial cake pan and the faucet from a piece of plumbing hose. The stove top burners are recycled aluminum candle holders. And the refrigerator doors are plywood wrapped with aluminum flashing. We painted a Hudson Paint chalkboard menu using "safety orange". And created a diner-style menu of macro pictures of the tiny treats. The boy came up with the prices which are truly exorbitant - $100 for a plate of wooden pasta?
